What is Adsense Notifier?
Adsense Notifier displays your Adsense earnings on your Firefox status bar. It allows you to easily see your earnings at a glance instead of logging into the Adsense website multiple times a day.

Adsense Notifier simply shows your adsense stats on the status bar and updates the stats automatically. This is wonderful for anyone with OCD ( or GAD as some have called it ) who needs to check their stats every three seconds to see if they have gotten any more clicks :-p

Very cool extension - saves me having to go to the Adsense site every five minutes!
One change I would like to see is the positioning on the status bar. Right now it shows on the left of the progress bar and secure site notifications when they appear and I think it would be nicer to show on the left.

Okay, I feel like a n00b. I installed it, but I can’t figure out how to configure. I juse see “AdSense” in the lower right of the browser. I tried double-click and right-clicking, but no luck. What am I missing?

Since upgrading FF to 1.0.4, Adsense will not log in anymore unless I go to the web site and log in there first. Then the next time it checks, or if I open a new window, I get the same log in error. The UN/PW is absolutely correct.

I am using AdSense 1.0.04 and I am having difficulty with getting info. Most of the time I just get the word “AdSense” down at the bottom, but no stats. Sometimes it will work for a few hours, then stop again.
I am using the Mac version of Firefox. It works just fine on the PC version.
Any ideas why I am having trouble?

Hi, great plugin, thanks. One small suggestion. As it grants total access to the Adsense account details, could the next version incorporate some sort of security, for example an option to always ask for a password every new browser session? It would make it a bit more secure.

I couldn’t get it to work on my Mac (FF 1.0.4) either Arieanna. I never tried it on an earlier Mac version of FF. Worked on Windows with version 1.0.3 and 1.0.4 just fine.
NP, I’d think it would probably just be better not to use this extension at a computer where you’re concerned about security. Seems like it would be pretty annoying to be prompted for a password everytime you open your browser.

Love the tool. Brilliant stuff.
I have a suggestion - do you think it would be possible to incorperate an automatic currently converter? I’m in the UK and the only way to quickly determine the ammount in my currency is to half the price, but obviously it would be great if you could implement an exact converter.

I have just tested with MacOSX Tiger. It seems it does not try to update itself. The Status Bar stayed as “Adsense” after started up.

This is STILL not working right. It will not login even though I am 100% sure that the information is correct. I have to go to the Adsense web site first and log in there before it will work and what’s the sense in that??? I was hoping this would be fixed with the upgrade to 0.5.1 but apparently this HUGE bug went ignored.
I’m uninstalling this crap. Let me know if you ever get it to work right.

Why the hostility? I am developing this utility in my spare time, free of charge, and releasing it to the community as Open Source.
Please let me know what OS & version of Firefox that you are running and I will do everything I can to figure out what the bug is. As a side note, I do not have direct access to a mac with OSX so it is _very_ difficult for me to troubleshoot and find problems on that platform.

I like to integrate my adsense stats into my accounting and tracking program, written in Delphi. I have asked Google about the API description, but received the answer that there is no API for adsense reports.
Could you please put me on the right track and describe the principle how do you get hold of the adsense report values?

It doesn’t seem to work now that Google has redesigned their interface. Anyone else having this problem? I just get “Adsense: 0 - 0 - 0.0% - $0.00 - $0.00″ at all times. Yes, I’ve checked my password and my cookies. *confuzzled*

It appears that Google updated their pages. AdSense Notifier probably needs to be updated to reflect the new addresses and formats.

Thanks for the fast update today! My only problem is that right-clicking on the status bar text does not open AdSense as I have specified- in fact, it doesn’t do anything at all. This worked fine in Firefox 1.04 on XP, but now, in Firefox 1.05 on OS X, right-clicking doesn’t work. Anyone else having this problem?

Using Firefox, I installed Adsense Notifier with no problem. Now I have the Adsense information line in my status bar, but it is reporting only “zero’s” for all fields. Right the Adsense Notifier opens a new tab with current reporting info as it should, and here the correct data is displayed.
Any suggestions as to why the status line is displaying only zero’s? Configuration is set to update every 15 minutes.

Great extension but I have a suggestion. When right clicking and bringing up the adsense page, it would be nice to have the option to view the reports as last seen or have the ability to set the default view. I like to view my data by channel and your plugin always switches it to aggregate.

As a certified OCO sufferer ( hehe - thats Obsessive Compulsive ORDER ) I thought HEY this IS the extension for me, but as I am a Mac OSX user on FF 1.0.5 All I have is the word ‘Adsense’ added in the bottom right of my browser window.

Great plug-in. Thank you for sharing with the community.
And it prompted me to try Google Adsense. I had just blown it (the concept) off until now - I have an Orange County web directory that’s up to 75,000 visitors per month now, with 2900 pages of quality content. I tried affiliate programs and have been rather disappointed in the results. I ripped out most of those and replaced them with monthly ads by local companies. And it seemed like Adsense is everywhere - including on all those junk pages that are nothing more than regurgitated search results that have cluttered up the web lately. To be truthful, I looked down my nose at the sites using it, for those reasons.
(Another concern I had was that some inclusion programs require that no other ads be on the same pages. Google’s policy, however, is simply that they cannot mimic Google ads or have a sensing technology. So I do not have to cancel ads from paying clientele in order to have Adsense on my pages.)
When I saw your extension, I thought - could Adsense really make enough money to justify monitoring it?
Guess what? I signed up for Adsense, added it to the =bottom= of my pages (where only people who =really= read the pages would see it), installed your extension (no problems, clean as could be! thanks!) and - voila! I have made $3.89 overnight! 14 hours that are not even my prime time. I figure that Google ad bar at the bottom of my pages will reap at least $150 per month (maybe even $200?) at this rate.
Now, $150 isn’t going to pay anyone’s bills, but it’s a nice little addition to my revenue stream for the sacrifice of just a little space at the bottom of my pages. And the answer is - Yes - Adsense makes enough money to justify monitoring - if for no other reason than it’s motivating. I imagine I’m not the only person who has put his heart and soul and midnight oil into a web project at a return of about $.15 per hour so far.
So I encourage others to give Google Adsense a whirl (but not on junk pages, PU-LEAZ!) It seems to be a great program. The results, BTW, are mostly relevant to content - as advertised.
I owe you a thanks not only for the extension, but also for making me take a closer look at Adsense. Thank you. I will add a link to this site.

PS - We’re involved in Siberian Husky rescue, and it never ceases to amaze me how people will treat volunteers like paid office staff. People, mind you, who are getting “something for nothing”, while the volunteers are =giving= something for nothing. Don’t let the jerks get you down - they are loud but they are the minority. The vast majority of people appreciate your effort, but sometimes we don’t say it loud enough. My suggestion is: send the jerks a reply with a PayPal donate button in it!

They did it again.
I believe the problem is that they removed ‘Totals’ above the table. Now notifier shows earning for the first day of the month only.

The stats there are usually updated faster than in google.com/adsense

Those who use AdBrite and not AdSense seem to be suffering from the same menthal disorder
- is it possible to ask the author to develop AdBrite notifier? And, yes, Yahoo’s YPN folks are going to jump on the bandwagon too

Great extension, it’s so much more convenient than checking the website manually all the time. However, a few times I ran into a situation where it kept popping up the account info screen claiming that the login was invalid. Not a problem, the website changes things around. But it was impossible to get out of that dialog without killing the browser. Small bug, doesn’t take away from the immense usefulness of the extension!

V 0.6.6 , Initial login stopped working. I need to manually login first. I tried re-installing with no luck. Did Google play around with things again and we are just waiting on a new update on this 1st class extension or is there more too it?
BTW, I inquired to see if “mincus code” would accept donations. After all I feel that all the praise above is nice but lets give credit where credit is due. I don’t part with money easily but I am all in favor of contributing for something that I always use, is well supported and works good….AsSense!

It’s a shame that Adsense Notifier 0.6.6 does not remember the Google password. Sure, FireFox will remember it but demands I enter my master password every time I open the browser. Otherwise, quite brilliant.

Hello,
Im one of the many people who dont have a payment every month. Because of this I cant see how much money is currently on my account when I already had a payment. Because I cant choose the right time interval.
For this it would be fine if I could set the value of money already paid out.
At the moment I only can set the time from beginning. Then it shows more money than in my account because it is already paid out.
And when I would choose the last month I dont have the month before in the list. And so on.

Could you add an option that changes it so that left clicking will log in and pull the data, and right-clicking will open it in a new tab? I( use my browser behind a proxy at work and with no proxy at home, so, I would like to have my internet connection setup and fire-fox already authenticated before this extension tries to log in…

Google Adsense’s Reports Overview page lets you view teh amount received “since last payment” in the dropdown list. It would be pretty cool if Adsense Notifier could do the same thing. Is that possible?

Great extension!
However, I have two issues with it:
* Can’t choose where in the status bar it shows up. I have other extensions in my status bar and I can’t move around the Adsense info. This is only a minor issue.
* Stores the password in my passwords file. I have my passwords file key protected and this causes me to have to enter my master password EVERY time I startup Firefox. This alone is making me uninstall it.

Very useful extension!
But it’s check adsense info every time as one more firefox window are opened, and new time check starts in every ff window. If it will be possible to synchronize adsense status updates in all ff windows (like yahoo email check extension) it will be good.

I’ve been using your extension for a few months, now, and happily so. Today I had to reinstall firefox (after deleting every trace of the old version) to v.1.5.0.1 (tried with both english and italian versions), and Adsense Notifier (v.0.8) only worked the very first time after the installation. Since then, EVERY time I open FF, the Adsense Notifier config window is opened; I enter the password again, click ok, and the config window is opened again after a (failed ?) attempt to connect to google. And so on and on and on. And it doesn’t save the password. I’m 100% sure the login data is correct. Any idea? Thanks in advance!

I would like to have the ability to see my all time total. I don’t get much in the way of clicks on my ads so my total doesn’t change much. It was in previous versions but seems to come and go as the versions change.

Great extension for compulsive adsense checkers like me.
However, you should be aware: The right, left and middle mouse click action do not work on either of my Macs (OS X tiger). I do have a three button mouse on one mac. Also, no combination of option, cntrl, fn or shift activates any clicks.
Other than that I am very thankful for the extension.

1. I can offer to translate this little plug-in to German (boyfriend is a native speaker)
Clicking on the status bar’s display (left, middle, right doesn’t matter) has no effect whatsoever on my Mac - works perfectly on my PC though. Just thought you may want to know…
2. While it basically does what it’s supposed to do on my Mac (OS 10.4.5, FF 1.5.0.1), it doesn’t seem to recognize any clicks. Not a major issue but an inconvenience nonetheless

This is a pretty useful extension. Will save a lot of time since you see it right on your browser’s status bar and you no longer have to keep logging in and out of the google site. Keep up the good work. I hope you decide to make this open source. Might be interesting what a community effort could do to improve it even more.
